photography is just a tiny moment. or a moment between moments.  photography tells the truth the way it sees it. sometimes it even lies!

the truth and the lies each serve their own purpose.

timing is everything.

everyone who takes pictures is a photographer. and every photographer is an observer, a reporter, an interpreter.

i've always felt a little bit on the outside, with my nose pressed against the window. when i started taking pictures, in high school, my friends found it annoying that i never took the camera off them.

but the patience and disdain always paid off. usually after lengthy discussions about there not being any film in the camera - REMEMBER FILM? - they liked that i captured them the way they are.

i like being there. i hover. i spy... when i cover an event. when i take a potrait, photograph a flower, rain, wind, food, garbage, ...door knobs.
